               The world celebrates September 29 as the international coffee day. Some of you are aware of the fact that coffee contains caffeine and it can offer some health benefits. It is one of the most consumed beverages in the world.



           Drinking coffee is fine but if you drink too much of coffee, you will feel some unpleasant side effects. Recent studies suggest that coffee reduces the risk of heart disease, cancer like prostate cancer and the antioxidants present in the coffee will destroy the free radicals in our body and these positive results are based on observational research. Coffee contains vitamin B nicotinic acid, free fatty acid, caffeine, tannic acid, etc.

Health benefits
  • Coffee will boost body metabolism and stimulates the central nervous system.
  • Drinking coffee has a negative effect on weight gain with no sugar or creamers because you are not adding any additional calories to your diet.
  • Coffee can eliminate fatigue.
  • Coffee consumption may provide a slight protective effect with respect to colon cancer.

Disadvantages
  • More consumption of coffee in a daily life can lead to a caffeine headache, sleeplessness and diarrhoea.
  • More than usual coffee consumption will produce nervousness and anxiety disorders.
  • A large amount of caffeine may cause osteoporosis as it has a very good diuresis effect.
  • Coffee consumption in excess of 2 cups/day may be weakly associated with an increased risk of bladder cancer.

                 A moderate consumption of coffee such as one or two cups a day is perfectly healthy unless you have an aversion to any caffeine. " If you are pregnant, talk with your doctor about the caffeine which is present in the coffee".
